New York’s melodic hard-rockers Eve to Adam are introducing their highly anticipated new album “locked & loaded” released on September 17^th 2013 the new effort was produced by a number of top notch producers including bassist Eric Bass (Shinedown), Elvis Baskette (Incubus, Chevelle, Alter Bridge) and Dave Bassett (Shinedown, Halestorm), I heard about this band for the first time ever when they were opening some few dates for Chevelle early this year, the band had previously released the lead-single “straitjacket super model” on May 26, 2013 made the top 40 rock charts and it quickly became in a major success aired several times on the radio. ETA’s locked & loaded has a showy album cover featuring a girl barely clad and a gun in her hand between her legs stating this we can say locked & loaded is a pretty solid and interesting record Fronted by lead singer Taki Sassaris, Eve to Adam is comprised of lead guitarist Gaurav Bali, rhythm guitarist Adam Latiff, bassist Luis Espaillat and drummer Alex Sassaris, as you venture into the whole record you notice that this band have been working so hard every day to get the longed spot into the mainstream scene, with some passionate lyrics and great attitude every catchy riff manages to be in the same line of the raspy vocal ranges of Taki Sassaris while drummer beats deliver technique and style. “Immortal” is just another great rock song who already serves as a second single, overall Locked & Loaded delivers so many good rock songs since you’re diving into to the first song, after suffering many line-up changes and a brief brake-up the band has found its own rock & roll style with talented musicians revitalizing the genre, It’s a kind of revival, debuting since 2001 with their barely known first record “Auburn Slip” ETA’s Locked & Loaded will finally gain all that success and recognition that they have been waiting for.

Los rockeros melodicos de nueva york Eve to Adam estan presentando su altamente esperado Nuevo album “locked & loaded” lanzado el 17 de Septiembre de 2013, el nuevo material fue producido por un numero importante de productores de primera categoría como el bajista Eric Bass (Shinedown), Elvis Baskette (Incubus, Chevelle, Alter Bridge) and Dave Bassett (Shinedown, Halestorm), la primera vez que escuche esta banda fue cuando estuvieron abriendo para chevelle a principios de año, la banda había lanzado previamente el single “straitjacket super model” el 26 de mayo de este año entro al top 40 de las listas de rock y rápidamente se convirtió en éxito logrando rotación en la radio. ETA’s locked & loaded tiene una llamativa portada que contiene una chica apenas vestida y una pistola en mano entre sus piernas aclarando esto podemos decir que locked & loaded es un disco bastante solido e interesante, comandados por el vocalista Taki Sassaris Eve to Adam se compone del guitarrista Gauray Bali, guitarrista rítmico Adam Latiff, el bajista Luis Espaillat y el baterista Alez Sassaris, al momento en que tu te aventuras dentro de todo el disco te das cuenta de que la banda ha estado trabajando muy fuerte cada dia para obtener el lugar tan anhelado dentro de la escena mainstream, con algunas apasionadas letras y gran actitud cada pegadizo riff se las arregla para estar en la misma línea de la rasposa voz de Taki Sassaris mientras el baterista entrega técnica y estilo. “Immortal” es solo otra gran canción de rock que ya sirve como segundo sencillo, en conjunto locked & loaded entrega muchas muy buenas canciones desde que te sumerges en la primer canción, después de sufrir muchos cambios de alineación y una breve separación la banda ha encontrado su propio estilo rock & roll con talentosos músicos revitalizando el genero, algo asi como un renacimiento, debutando desde el 2001 con su apenas conocido primer disco “Auburn Slip” ETA’s locked & loaded ganara todo ese éxito y reconocimiento por el que la banda ha estado esperando.

After singing for about 7 years with the Ontario, Canada Hard-Rockers “Hail The Villain” Brian Crouch has finally arrived with his brand new project named “Six Side Die” this time offering its first album debut, somehow and sadly for all those who used to be into the Hail to the villain's sound we got some terrible news when we noticed that Brian had been forced to leave the band because of a vocal injury, of course this meant an inevitable departure of the rock scene, I almost thought about never singing or performing again” said Crouch, were tough times but fortunately there’s always a bright light on the horizon, after months writing in the studio with his new musical endeavor I have to admit I had my doubts when that first “Six Side Die EP “ came out in August 2012 just because Hail The Villain caused a lot of expectation and pretty good reviews when its first major label debut with roadrunner records and Warner music (Canada) saw the light I really loved that project, Now Six Side Die’s first full length album is packed with a lot of energy and incredible attitude these 5 guys know how to rock and put the energy to any listener in a high level; the band launched in January 2013 an Indiegogo campaign raising the funds necessary to get to the studio and release the record, one of the band’s goals as they have stated is offer an extremely unique heavy metal sound and they are looking for so much, musically “that f’n album” gives you a surprisingly and a really out of this world experience I loved the effort since the first listen every single song off of “that f’n album” keeps a good vibe and I have not found a lame moment yet, some of the most noticeable things are the black humor and creative lyrics for example every song has been written with the letter “F” where the title goes, titles such as “fuzz candy” captures that essence that you always need to get involved into it when you listen to a record by the first time, but this is not enough when “Freeze Frame” starts with a heavy riff, fast tempo and a double pedal on the drums you realize this band is pretty different among others contemporary rock acts, probably some of these differences are mainly because of the lyrics and the voice that Brian manages in a very good way, on the other hand “Fracture Mon Frere” has an electric mandolin this makes a different approach for the band’s talent, plus the animated album cover is fairly respectable and colorful and gives some clues of certain songs behind the main idea of the record, “that f’n album” is easily a must own record and is in another level of writing, arrangement and concept for a band that still has to grow though these guys have an unprecedented potential you will never feel disappointed or tired while listening to this album overall “that f’n album” is highly recommended for all those into the hard-rock/metal scene either if you are looking for something new or if you think there’s nothing new under the sun anymore “that f’n album” is exactly what you need to get now.

Despues de cantar por cerca de 7 años con los rockeros de Ontario, Canada “hail the villain” Brian Crouch ha llegado finalmente con su nuevo proyecto llamado “six side die” esta vez ofreciendo su primer álbum de larga duración, de alguna manera y tristemente para todos aquellos quienes solian estar dentro del sonido de Hail the villain, tuvimos terribles noticias cuando supimos que Brian había sido forzado a dejar la banda por una lesión en las cuerdas vocales, por supuesto esto significo una inevitable partida de la escena rock, “Yo casi pensé que no volveria a cantar de nuevo” dijo Crouch, fueron tiempos difíciles pero afortunadamente siempre hay una brillante línea en el horizonte, después de meses de escribir en el estudio con esta su nueva aventura musical debo admitir que yo tenia mis dudas cuando ese primer “six side die” EP salio en agosto de 2012, simplemente porque Hail the villain causo mucha expectación y muy buenas criticas con su primer LP con roadrunner records y Warner (canada) vio la luz  me encanto ese proyecto. Ahora el larga duración de Six Side Die viene empacado con un monton de energía e increíble actitud, estos 5 chicos saben como rockear y poner la energía a cualquier escucha en un alto nivel, la banda lanzo una campaña en indiegogo logrando recabar los fondos necesarios para ir al estudio y lanzar el disco, une de las metas de la banda según han declarado es ofrecer un sonido heavy metal extremadamente único y ellos van por mas, musicalmente “that f’n álbum” te da una sorprendente y realmente una experiencia fuera de este mundo, me encanto el disco desde la primera escucha cada canción de este disco mantiene una buena vibra y no he encontrado momento flojo aun, uno de los aspectos mas notables son las letras creativas y con humor negro por ejemplo cada canción ha sido escrita con la letra “F” al principio de cada titulo, títulos como “fuzz Candy” captura esa escencia que tu siempre necesitas para involucrarte con el disco cuando lo escuchas por primera vez, pero esto no es suficiente cuando “freeze frame” comienza con ese riff pesado, doble pedal en la batería y su rápido tiempo tu te das cuenta que esta banda es bastante diferente dentro de todas las demás contemporáneas, probablemente algunas de estas diferencias son principalmente por las letras y la voz que Brian de muy buena forma. Por otro lado “fracture mon frere” tiene una mandolina eléctrica dándole un enfoque diferente al talento de la banda, además la portada animada es bastante respetable y colorida y te da algunas pistas de ciertas canciones de la idea principal del disco. “That f’n álbum” es fácilmente un álbum que debe de comprarse esta en otro nivel de composición y concepto para una banda que todavía tiene que crecer aunque estos 5 chicos tiene un talento sin precedentes tu nunca te decepcionaras o cansaras mientras estas escuchando el álbum, en general “that f’ n álbum” es un material altamente recomendado para todos aquellos dentro de la escena hard-rock y metal ya sea que estes buscando algo nuevo o si tu piensas que ya no hay nada nuevo bajo el sol “that f’ n álbum” es exactamente lo que necesitas tener ahora.

Ministry - From Beer To Eternity (Album Review)

Ministry are back with their final last álbum “from beer to eternity” after previously have announced that the band would call it quits back in 2008 and saying an eventual reunion would never happen. The band made a comeback in August 2011 for a number of festivals followed by a world tour and in fact since “the last sucker” era Jourgensen stated this was going to be the last Ministry album. From beer to eternity includes Guitarist Mike Scaccia who sadly passed away on December 23, 2012 victim of a heart attack while playing with his other band Rigor Mortis, Jourgensen and Scaccia recorded the album together weeks before Scaccia’s death, to me the album can be divided into two sections the first one offers the heavy classic sound full of industrial effects easily Ministry trademark sound, songs like “Hail to his majesty” “Permawar” and “Fairly Unbalanced” give us a successful experience mainly because of the guitar riffs, moreover Al Jourgensen continue being very outspoken as he has denounced Republicans on numerous albums also former president George W. Bush this last album is not the exception. The second half serves up as a more electronic part including more spacious elements, the track “side F/X include Mike’s middle finger TV4” is by far one of the best songs off of the new record as well as one of the fastest tracks on the album crunchy guitar riffs and a killer drum machine put the album in a high level intensity, I can’t dismiss “Change of luck” a mixed track right in the line between electronic and industrial the album closes out with “enjoy the quiet” I think this is a reference reminding you that this is finally the last album of Ministry one of the most successful and influential Industrial projects since the 80’s, with Al Jourgensen stating that there will be no tour promotion for this album and now that Guitarist Mike Scaccia has passed away there’s no Ministry without him, from beer to eternity is a nice and enjoyable farewell.

Ministry esta de regreso con su finalmente ultimo album “from beer to eternity” despues de previamente haber anunciado la separacion de la banda en 2008 y decir que una eventual reunion nunca pasaria la banda hizo un regreso en agosto de 2011 para una serie de festivales seguido de una gira mundial, de hecho desde el disco “the last sucker” Jourgensen declaro que este iba a ser el ultimo álbum en la carrera de Ministry. From beer to eternity incluye al guitarrista Mike Scaccia quien tristemente fallecio el 23 de diciembre de 2012 victima de un ataque al corazón mientras tocaba con su otra banda Rigor Mortis, Jourgensen y Scaccia grabaron el álbum juntos semanas antes de la muerte de Scaccia. Para mi el álbum puede ser dividido en dos partes: la primera ofrece el sonido heavy e industrial de Ministry lleno de elementos industriales fácilmente el sonido Ministry. Canciones como “hail to his majesty” “permawar” y “Fairly Unbalanced” nos dan una buena experiencia exitosa principalmente por los riffs de guitarra, por otro lado Al Jourgensen continua siendo muy franco ya que el ha denunciado a los republicanos en numerosos discos y también al expresidente George W. Bush y este álbum no es la excepción. La segunda mitad del disco sirve mas como una parte mas electrónica incluyendo numerosos elementos espaciales, la canción “side F/X include Mike’s middle finger TV4” es por mucho una de las mejores entregas del disco asi como también de las mas rapidas y con mejores riffs y batería que ponen el álbum en un nivel alto de intensidad. No puedo descartar “change of luck” una canción entre la línea de lo electrónico e industrial, el álbum cierra con “enjoy the quiet” pienso yo es una referencia recordándote que este es el ultimo álbum de Ministry uno de los proyectos industriales mas exitosos e influyentes desde la década de los 80’s, con Al Jourgensen declarando que no habrá gira de promoción para este álbum y que con el fallecimiento de Mike Sccacia no hay mas Ministry, from beer to eternity es una agradable y ultima despedida.

Saliva - In IT To Win It (Album Review)

A new chapter of Saliva’s career has just begun, to be honest, I had never been a huge fan of the band although I had already heard some of the radio-friendly songs “click-click boom” “always” “your disease”, now things have changed a lot, while many old school fans will prefer the Josey Scott era, with “in it to win it” I’m sure the band will gain thousands more (like me). After Josey’s departure at the end of 2011 to pursue a Christian solo career, the band welcomed Bobby Amaru as Saliva’s new singer, this guy who had already played in a band called “Burn Season” as a Drummer and also has a studio in Florida is very talented, he has given that new fresh-wave and good vibe to the band that everyone needs at one point in the life. “In It To Win IT” has many stand outs tracks, since the first time I listened to “in it to win it” the lead single I knew I would love the whole album, this song is one of the best performances among the 15 tracks off of the new record, the song is full of aggression, bitchy riffs, groovy bass lines and killer drum beats, however the whole album “in it to win it” by itself is a pretty solid record it has a lot of variety even if you love ballads, party rock songs or if you’re looking for a heavy rock song Saliva’s new album is the perfect choice. It seems like the band have worked heavily to offer us Saliva’s best record to date since “Back into your system” since I have not found something bad about the new album yet, either the new record deal (now with Rum Bum Records) or the new vocalist. It’s a new level of greatness is Saliva’s In It To Win It.

Un Nuevo capitulo en la Carrera de saliva acaba de de comenzar, para ser honesto nuca fui un gran fan aunque ya había escuchado un par de canciones radiales “click-click boom” “always” “your disease” ahora las cosas han cambiado, mientras muchos fans van a preferir la era de Josey Scott con “in it to win it” estoy seguro la banda ganara mil mas (como yo). Despues de la salida de Josey Scott para perseguir una carrera en solitario como cristiano, la banda dio la bienvenida a Bobby Amaru como nuevo vocalista de Saliva, este chico quien ya había tocado en una banda llamada “Burn Season” como baterista y también tiene un estudio en Florida es muy talentoso, el le ha dado un aire fresco y buena vibra al grupo que todos necesitan en algún punto de su vida. “In It To Win It” tiene muchas canciones destacables, desde la primera vez que escuche el sencillo “in it to win it” sabia que me encantaría el álbum, esta canción es una de las mejores presentaciones de la banda dentro de las 15 del álbum, la canción llena de agresión, riffs venenosos, líneas de bajo groovy y sonidos estruendosos de batería, sin embargo el álbum por si solo es una solida pieza y tiene muchas variedad incluso si te gustan las baladas, canciones de fiesta, o si estas buscando una canción bastante pesada el nuevo álbum de saliva es la opción perfecta. Parece que la banda ha trabajado fuertemente para ofrecernos el mejor disco de saliva a la fecha desde “back into your system” ya que no he encontrado algo malo aun, o el nuevo contrato con (Rum Bum Records) o por el nuevo vocalista. Es un nuevo nivel de Grandeza es In It To Win It de Saliva.

Nine Inch Nails - Hesitation Marks (Album Review)

Nine inch nails’ mastermind Trent Reznor is back, after being away from the studio for almost 5 years (at least with NIN) and that’s right, It is the Industrial machine mixed with electronic beats who brought the underground industrial sound to the mainstream scene. Hesitation Marks is intriguing it is a surprising new journey gathering some of the best elements that have made of Nine Inch Nails the definitive Industrial rocker band, the album starts out with a very good couple of songs such like “copy of a” and “came back haunted” (who also serves as the lead-off single) this song offers aggressive synths and a really addictive guitar line it’s just another NIN’s trademark, the ballad “Find My Way” is probably one of the best songs off of the new record it’s such a magic voyage full of slow electronic beats and dark sounds this one reminds me the group’s 1995 single Hurt, "Disappointed" is another great song it has a fairly good guitar line, despite of the awesomeness of Mr. Trent Reznor there’s a very weak song in the album the poppy one “everything”, in the end the final tracks are still enjoyable, “in two” and “while I’m still here” confirm again that NIN’s Hesitation Marks is a decent return for a band that have changed the way of doing the music since their early days.

El cerebro de Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor esta de regreso, despues de estar alejado del estudio por casi 5 años ( al menos con Nine Inch Nails) si asi es, esa maquina industrial mezclada con beats electrónicos quien trajo el sonido underground industrial a la escena mainstream. Hesitation Marks es intrigante y un sorprendente nuevo viaje reuniendo algunos de los mejores elementos que han hecho de NIN la banda Industrial Rock definitiva, el álbum inicia con un muy buen par de canciones como “copy of a” y “came back haunted” (que es también el primer sencillo) esta canción ofrece agresivos sintetizadores y una línea de guitarra realmente adictiva, es el sonido NIN. La balada “find my way” es probablemente una de las mejores entregas salidas de esta disco es un gran viaje mágico lleno de beats electrónicos y sonidos oscuros recordándome un poco a su single de 1995 “Hurt” Disappointed es otra gran canción con una línea de guitarra bastante buena. A pesar de la genialidad de Mr Trent Reznor hay una canción bastante floja “everything” la casi pop “everything”, al final del disco las canciones siguen siendo disfrutables, “in two” y “while I’m still here” confirman de nuevo que Hesitation Marks de NIN es un regreso decente para una banda que cambiado la forma de hacer música desde sus inicios.

Avenged Sevenfold - Hail To The King (Album Review)

Easily Metallica is one of the biggest and influential Heavy-Metal bands of all time, in the very beginning of this 21^st century we have witnessed how many bands have tried to reach the same place and recognition globally, thus far really few acts can show-off that. Avenged Sevenfold’s Hail To The King is packed with epic and elaborated riffs and such great vocal ranges from M.Shadows providing a pleasant experience while listening to the album, Hail to the king features new Drummer Arin Ilejay and it is also the first album with no creative input from The Rev, by far A7X is definitely one of the most popular and successful Metal bands these days and Hail To The King shows that the band is able to do great music yet even after the rev’s death at the end of the album Hail To The King puts the band in another level among the other contemporary metal acts. That old school vibe with a fairly slow tempo, the more you listen to the album the more you fall in love with them,  Hail to Avenged Sevenfold!

Facilmente Metallica es una de las bandas mas grandes e influyentes de todos los tiempos, muy al comienzo de este siglo 21 hemos sido testigos de como muchas bandas han intentado alcanzar el mismo exito y reconocimiento global, hasta el momento muy pocas pueden presumir eso. Hail to the king de Avenged Sevenfold esta lleno de riffs epicos y elaborados y grandes alcanzes vocales de M.Shadows ofreciendonos una placentera experiencia mientras escuchas el album. Hail to the king contiene la participacion del nuevo bateria Arin Illejay y es el primer album sin ninguna parte creativa de "the rev", por mucho A7X es uno de los actos nuevos mas exitosos y populares del momento y Hail to the king muestra que la banda es aun capaz de hacer buena musica incluso despues de la muerte de the rev, al final de la escucha Hail to the king pone a la banda en otro nivel de entre sus contemporaneos, y esa vibra con el tiempo lento entre sus canciones hace que entre mas escuches el album mas te enamores de el, Saluda a Avenged Sevenfold!
